What are the benefits of the SRT-100?
What are the benefits of the SRT-100?The SRT-100 is a non-surgical option to Mohs surgery. Even though Mohs surgery has been the first choice for basal cell carcinoma treatment and squamous cell carcinoma treatment, it has several potential drawbacks. The removal of cancerous tissue along with healthy surrounding tissue causes a painful and lengthy recovery process that increases the risk of infection and scarring. There are no post-surgical infections or complications with the SRT-100. It provides patients and physicians with a safe and effective treatment option. Some of the benefits of the SRT-100 are:
- Excellent cure rates that compete against surgery
- No lifestyle restrictions
- Quick treatment sessions
- No anesthesia, cutting, bleeding, stitching or pain
- No unsightly scarring
- No need for post-treatment reconstructive surgeries
Is SRT an effective keloid treatment?
Keloid scars are shiny, fibrous nodules triggered by too much collagen production and an overgrowth of scar tissue that can be painful and unsightly. Preventing keloid scars is tough to do because of the genetic predisposition in African American, Asian, Hispanic and skin of color individuals. There are topical over-the-counter products for Keloid removal but they aren’t very effective. Keloid treatment usually requires surgery but there is a high risk that the incision made during the keloid removal will become the site of a new keloid. The SRT-100 has a high success rate with keloid treatment. A low dose of Superficial Radiation Therapy after surgical keloid removal prevents the regrowth of a new keloid.
