Does CoolSculpting Work for Men Too?
America is having a love-affair with nonsurgical cosmetic procedures, which continue to grow in popularity. One of the procedures leading that charge is the fat-freezing, fat-reduction treatment, CoolSculpting, which among other things targets stubborn belly fat. When we think of cosmetic surgery, naturally, women come to mind, but CoolSculpting for men is increasing in popularity as more men are getting into the game. This begs the question - Does CoolSculpting Work for Men Too? But, of course! CoolSculpting is a popular treatment, here at ELIAS Dermatology.
Freeze the Fat Away!
This nonsurgical body contouring procedure does not use any needles, nor are there any surgical incisions, and there’s very little downtime, which adds to its popularity. CoolSculpting is actually the brand name for the noninvasive technology called cryolipolysis, which uses extreme cold to freeze or kill fat cells. CoolSculpting for men is an excellent option for healthy guys who are still battling stubborn fat, even after a major commitment to dieting and exercise.
Bulges Be Gone!
CoolSculpting is the only nonsurgical fat-reduction treatment approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which cleared the treatment for several body areas, including:
Upper back (“bra rolls”)
Thighs (inner or outer)
Under the buttocks
Under the chin (double chin)
What Men Want
With each passing year, more men are pursuing healthier, younger-looking skin, along with a body to match. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgery, men made up over nine percent of nonsurgical procedure patients, last year, and since 2000, their demand for these procedures has gone up 74 percent.
Apparently, men want some of the same things that women want, when it comes to aesthetics. A survey earlier this year, from the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) finds that men want to enhance their looks, to appear younger and more energetic in the workplace, so they are driven to stay competitive.
The survey also finds that men like the procedure because as we mentioned earlier because it is nonsurgical, there’s no downtime when it comes to recovery, which means you can get back to your normal activities immediately after the treatment. Plus – you can get it done on your lunch hour, and the results are permanent. All of this bodes well for men, who are less tolerant of significant downtime and complications.
Men Prefer Noninvasive Treatments
In addition to CoolSculpting, men also tend to favor the following noninvasive treatments:
Injectables - such as Botox®
Facials – cleanse, exfoliates, moisturizes the skin
Chemical peels – this facial procedure exfoliates and smooths the skin
Dermal fillers, such as Juvéderm
See? Men and women have more in common than we might think, right? And again – to answer your question - Does CoolSculpting Work for Men Too? We hope you know the answer by now. Of course, it does!
